Code of Conduct for Friday Evening Practices
The following rules are for all participants’ safety and enjoyment of the evening, it is also as a response to the guidelines now issued for child welfare by the E.C.B. under Safe Hands – Welfare of Young People in Cricket
• Any child under the age of school Year 6 must be collected by their Parents or Guardians.
• The Training Shirt supplied in the membership fee must be worn as a form of identification at each training session. No shirt – No training.
• We wish that the same training shirt is worn if your child uses the nets at any other time during the week.
Each child shall show good behaviour at all times, so all can make the best progress at their Cricket Skills. There will be a “cooling off area” supervised by the Junior Committee for any child that displays poor behaviour. At first they will be asked to sit quietly for 10 minutes, second occurrence 20 minutes and then any further and they will be expected to leave the field after they have been collected by their Parent or Guardian.
• There will be no use of foul language, it is also forbidden to trip, kick or push others on the field. The sight screens are out of bounds for safety reasons.
• Children will listen quietly when instructions or guidance is given.
• Bullying whether physical, verbal or emotional will not be tolerated for any reason.
The cricket field needs to be kept in good order, so
• no food is to be taken on it, only drinks bottles, we expect all children to bring a PLASTIC water bottle to all training evenings.
• the cricket square is out of bounds
• children will leave the field by 9:30 p.m. or darkness whichever is earlier
• nets ~ juniors will be expected to be wearing their training shirt and full cricket safety equipment, including none training nights.
• Parents are not allowed on the field during training.
Continued breach of the code of conduct can result in cancellation of membership, if the Junior Cricket Club Committee, agree it is in the best interests of the other members and will refund part of the joining fee.
This code of conduct will have been understood to have been agreed in its entirety by taking membership of the Wombourne Junior Cricket Club.
